I bought this on clearance at Walmart for $20.00 a little over a year ago. My daughter was 4 at the time and has never had any problem riding it. She loves this car. She is now 5 and still rides it and my son who is 10 also rides it with no problems. I accidentally hit only 2 starts for fun and it wont let me change it. Sorry, fun should be 5 stars.
2.) The BEST ourdoor toy EVER

My mom bought this for my son when he was 2. At the time, he was a little light and short, so he had a hard time turning and getting the car going, but practice made perfect. This is by far his favorite outdoor toy and he affectionately refers to it as "Lightening McQueen." Now my son rides around with his little brother behind him in the seat and they are darn cute! We have had this toy for 3 summers now and today the tires split. They are so bald anyway, we knew it would happen. I am online to buy another one or find some new tires. I would not trade this toy for ANYTHING else out there. Everyone who sees him ride it says it is cute and they have never seen anything like it.

I PURCHASED THIS FOR MY 3 YEAR OLD GRANDSON FOR HIS BIRTHDAY, AND IT WAS A BIG HIT WITH ALL THE OTHER PARTY GOERS. I WILL PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE FOR THE NEXT GRANDSON IN LINE SINCE IT WAS A BIG HIT. IT WAS SO WELL MADE, THAT EVEN THE OLDER 7 & 8 YEAR OLD KIDS RODE IT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.
4.) BEST OUTDOOR TOY EVER!!!

We bought this for my five year old son two years ago. It has been his favorite toy ever since. It has an old-school BigWheel maneuverability and goes pretty fast and turns tight. A couple of months ago, my three year old started pedaling around in it, and to avoid fighting over the car, we bought another one for my younger son. Now they love them MORE than ever. They just spent their two week winter break riding their pedal cars every single day for hours. They ride them extremely hard (spinning "donuts" and crashing into each other), and there is literally nothing they would rather do. I HIGHLY recommend this pedal car, especially if you can find it for the original 70 dollar price.
5.) The Hit of the Neighborhood

We've had this toy for 2 years now - and I just ordered replacement wheels from Step 2. Their number 800-347-8372 was easy to navigate, and the replacement wheels were pretty cheap, so I ordered 6 of them. The rest of the car has held up very well. My 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter still love this car - and whenever they bring it to the neighborhood park, kids flock to it for a ride.
It's pretty amazing that the wheels have lasted this long - I'd consider putting grip tape or gluing inner tubes to the outside - but my son loves to skid it - so too much grip is a bad thing in this situation.
The Step 2 folks said they are not currently making any more of these - so get it while you can.
6.) Great Pedal Car

I purchased this pedal car for my 22 month old great newphew. It was love at forst site. He loves riding lawn mowers. This was the closest thing to a riding lawn mower there was he loves it. If he could sleep in it I think that he would. His leg are a little short of reaching the pedals but he is still able to ride it.
7.) Great Car

We just purchased this car for my daughter's 3rd birthday. She was able to hop right on and pedal with no problem - she's even small for her age. She initially had a lot of difficulty turning/steering the car (which some other reviewers have mentioned), but this problem was quickly fixed by oiling the steering mechanism underneath - then she was able to pedal and steer fine! I would highly recommend this if you want a pedal-type car.

This is a fun toy, I have a 3 and 4 year old. It seems my 4 year old can drive this better then my 3 year old, but both have fun.I wish it only had some better traction for the tires, other wise we love it!
9.) fun car

This car is different than other ride-ons. that is why I bought it. the kids love it. My only complaint is the plastic tires have no traction. and I know they will wear out (Just Like a big wheel)so I put traction tape on every wheel to extend the wear and keeps the wheels from spinning. otherwise great little car.
10.) Wait until they are a little older (and heavier)

I bought this for my son 2 1/2, and he is neither tall enough, nor does he have the weight required to turn it. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under 5 years of age, or 45 lbs. The car itself weighs about 40 lbs, so you need some strength to both move it and turn it. I'm sure he will love it in a year or two, but not yet.
11.) Hard to Assemble, Cheap Plastic Crap
Reviewed by: Angry Shop Teacher

The assembly directions are poor, and the assembly is difficult because of the cheap design. (I'm a handyman with a garage full of tools, so it's not like I'm a stranger to putting things together.)
Tough for a 4-year-old to steer, but even when fully turned, the car has a ridiculously large turning radius.
Wheels are so slick, the car cannot climb a slightly inclined sidewalk (the child's weight is over the non-drive wheels).
