My four year old daughter absolutely loves this camera. She does have to have a steady hand for pictures to come out clear but that is usually the case with any camera. It has taught her a little patience. LCD screen isnt clear but when pictures are downloaded to computer, quality and clarity is a lot better. I was actually shocked with how good the pictures looked. I had read some negative reviews about this type of camera so I was expecting a lot worse.

I bought it for her for Christmas'09 and I am so glad I did. I can see her using it for a couple of years and then upgrading her to a one that is a little more advanced. This one has wonderful features and it is giving her practice with digital camera technology. It has a zoom, flash, and she has the ability to go back and scroll through all of the pictures she has taken. She was able to figure it out in one day. She loves being able to place stamps and frames on the things she is taking pictures of. She can go back and add them too.

Don't buy this camera if you are expecting professional quality photos(even though quality actually isn't that bad), buy it if you would like your child to get the opportunity to explore, learn and use digital camera technogoly and have fun doing so. It has the basics needed to be able learn what is needed with out all of the other confusing settings and features that a child wouldn't understand anyway.

It also has some games but, we have not had the opportunity to explore those yet. I have a feeling she wouldn't be interested in them anyhow, not now anyway.

I purchased two of these cameras (1 orange and 1 pink) for my 3-year old twin grandson/granddaughter and they love them. My grandson has dropped his, slung it into walls and doors and it doesn't seem to have phased it. They love taking pictures of everyone and everything wherever they go.

My almost 4 year old loves this camera, and it has so far withstood her abuse very well. It holds enough pictures that I don't have to worry about her following the cat and taking his picture for 15 minutes straight. She also loves the games on it, and we haven't had to change the batteries yet (she's only had it two weeks but she's used it alot!)

I bought this for as a present for my 6 year old niece. She loved it. She carried it around with her everywhere. Buttons were easy to use and had lots of fun features. One thing i should mention, she lost it constantly. Everything she owns is pink and because the camera is pink and on the small side, she would set it down and then spend hours looking for it. It would upset her, but you can see that she loved it cause she looked until she found it again. My suggestion is pick a place it should always go when it's not in use.

I looked carefully for a play camera for my 3 year old granddaughter. This camera is perfect for her age group. It was easy for her to figure out, even the games. I would highly, highly recommend it. And Amazon had the BEST price, even with Christmas discounts in local stores.

I have 4-year-old twin girls and a 20-month-old, and they all LOVE this camera. My older girls have had these cameras since last Christmas when they were 3 yrs, 9 mos. and they were able to figure out all of the buttons/functions very quickly. My youngest daughter has fun just pushing random buttons and telling everybody 'cheeeese'. I can attest to its durablitity because when she is done with it, she throws it as hard as she can onto the tile floor. So far we have not had any problems with either camera!

If the subject is not moving, you can actually take some decent pictures. I have not printed any of the pictures, but I have download and viewed them on the computer. Fortunately they hold a TON of pictures! We are VERY pleased with this camera.

Our 3 year old loves the camera! She's not overly rough with it, but it has withstood many drops. Picture quality is acceptable. Once she becomes better at using technology she will no doubt love to add the graphics to the pictures and play a few games. The batteries have lasted a long time considering she is still learning to turn it off when not in use. We chose this over the Fisher Price one due to price and that it didn't look so bulky, plus reviews were really mixed on that model.

We just bought this for our niece's 4th birthday and she loves it! She had so much fun at our wedding with a disposable camera, and I wanted to get her something a little more substantial than the standard Disney princess gifts we've relied on in the past.

In fact, we later learned that her grandparents had even bought her a real digital camera for her birthday, but she prefers this one! (I'm sure the fact that it is pink with flowers helps quite a bit XD)

Unfortunately I cannot comment on durability or user friendliness or picture quality since we are a whole state away, but I'll update this review as time goes by and I hear from her mother about how the camera is holding up.

I got this for my daughter on her 3rd Birthday. She loves it! She no longer wants to use my camera to take pictures and will go and get hers. The pictures do not come out that great, but all she wants to do is look at them in the camera so they are good enough for her. We havent uploaded to computer yet, so not sure of quality there.
The games on are great too. She still needs a little help when playing them, but they keep her interested by herself too. We have even dropped it a few times getting in and out of the car and it is still working the same.
I would recommend this camera.

We bought this camera for our grand daughter. She loves it!!!
She has taken many photos from the eyes of a 5 year old. Very good quality images for such an inexpensive camera. It has provided hours of enjoyment. Her mom just needs to keep up with her downloading them all to the computer. Highly recommended.

I bought the pink version of this camera for my daughter's 6th birthday from Amazon because Target only had it in orange. My daughter loves pink and Amazon's price was slightly lower than Target's. The camera has been a big hit. My daughter has had it for about a month and she takes it everywhere. She takes pictures of her friends and relatives and they get a big kick out of her showing them the picture she has just taken. The picture quality is good considering the price. We haven't uploaded the pictures into the computer so we don't know how that works. I would recommend this product.

I looked for a digital toy camera and this is the only one that I could find in a decent price range that I felt comfortable purchasing for a 5 and 7 year old grand-daughters. So far it's held up great and takes decent photo's. Kudo's to Vtech.

13.) Fantastic gift

I bought this for our niece's 3rd birthday. I think it's the best gift we've ever given a child. After opening it she didn't want to open her other gifts, she just wanted to take pictures. After taking pictures of everyone at the party with a balloon, she went on taking pictures of a drawer pull, a leaf on a plant, a candle holder (after taking out the candle), etc. Her concentration and insistance on getting the picture set up correctly was so cute to watch.

I helped my 5 year old daughter choose this camera to buy with money she'd received at Christmas. I was concerned that she'd be disappointed, because she uses our Canon Powershot a lot -- with a big bright screen, video, etc. I told her all the ways this camera would be different from the family camera, but she still decided she wanted it. And she LOVES the camera. She's been sleeping with it at night and is (almost) speechless with how much she enjoys it. Now, this infatuation will wear off soon enough, but measured against other toys and gifts, this camera is a major success. The pictures are fine - it's not going to replace our other camera, but it was almost a tenth the price. The games are a nice addition. It has a very sturdy feel to it. It's a fine product. My daughter and I recommend it.

Our 3 year old showed an early interest in taking pictures. She'd cry to use our camera and our phones to take pics so this is perfect! She loves that we can download the pics onto our computer. There are games on it but we haven't really looked at those yet. Great value, definitely recommend it!

This camera has been great for my 4 year old. She enjoyed the ease of use and being able to see her pictures on the screen immediately. I enjoyed how easy it was to download the photos. We have had a great experience with this so far and would recommend this to other people. We are getting our money's worth out of this!

I love photography, and want to show my daughter. This camera is good, flash works well. And its a sturdy camera. Has 2 games very simple, but I would not recommend it for a 6+ yr old. My niece tried it and got bored easily, she is 7. My 3yr old likes it, and understood one of the games. But hasnt figured out the editing part of it. But she loves it and carries it around all day. I would def recommend as a first camera for a young kid. Very good for the price, $30.

Educational-2-Doesnt teach much.
Durable-3-Still to find out but has dropped it and its working fine, bulky so screen wont get scratched.
Overall-4stars. I like it and she seems to enjoy it also.

I purchased this camera for my niece who had her 4th birthday. She loves to take pictures with our cameras so I thought it would be nice to get her a camera of her own. The reviews were positive from other reviewers and the price was right. She loves this camera and it takes decent photos. We don't have to worry about her dropping the camera or filling up the memory card on mommy's camera with avant garde floor photos and dog's leg photos she enjoys taking.

We got this camera for our three year old's birthday! She loves having her own camera especially the sticker and game features. It's great for her age range. It does not however take great pictures. She takes better pictures with my camera, but with her own I can get in a few good pics with my camera and I don't have her dropping my camera as often. The V-Tech does seem durable for drops and as I said is lots of fun for little hands to take pictures and play games.

Great camera for my 5 year old. She loves it, and her friends passed it around the birthday party and took pictures of each other. I haven't downloaded the pics yet to see picture quality.

22.) Blurry photos from Shaky hands.

Picture quality is okay. I'm the most disappointed by the lack of stability for small shaky hands. My daughter is three and can already get a decent shot with my small point and shoot. But I wanted something she could use without me worrying about her knocking it into things. However, she can't get a clear picture because there is no stabilizer for shaking.

It's been relegated to around the house use. When we travel, I'll still be handing her the real thing so she can actually get a good picture.

BLUF - Bottom Line Up Front: The picture quality is poor and there is no slot for an SD card.

We bought this for our trip to Europe so our 4 1/2 yr old daughter could have her own little camera to shoot whatever she liked. It was easy for her to use, she liked the little cartoon images she could add to the photos, but complained that the pictures were blurry, no matter how still you held the camera.

Recommend you spend a little more money on a point and shoot with photo stabilizer.
