This toy requires 3 double AA batteries to work. So, if your sound stops working check to see if the batteries need replacing. The battery pack is located where the on off switch is on the underneath side of the horse. This is a very good play horse for kids age 18 months to 4 years. I feel it develops leg muscles and teaches coordination of movement. It also teaches horse sounds, associating the sound with the animal. My grandson loves it.

We bought this horse last Christmas for our youngest grandson who was then 3. We put it together and didn't think it would last very long....were we WRONG?? The horse is a very much loved toy and as he has a brother 2 years older and a sister 3 years older it is in CONSTANT use daily!!! Both the boys are autistic and the abuse this horse has taken is nothing short of a miracle!!! He still talks etc. and he is jumped on and used as a spring board to fly over his head onto the couch or any other soft landing place they can find. I have even seen him standing on his head!! I wish every toy we bought held up HALF as well. It was worth many times what we paid for it.

I purchased this horse for my daughter's 3rd birthday, and she loves it. My older daughter is almost 5, and she loves it as well. After reading other reviews, I'm guessing that the model has changed slightly, since the batteries are now easily located in a hidden pocket right along the horse's mane. We haven't had problems with the buttons in the ears making sounds, although I find that my girls don't care much about the sounds anyway. We've had this horse for about a month.

The one thing I wanted to mention was a problem with the assembly instructions. When putting the horse together, be sure to place the red tube spring covers onto the bars before attaching the horse! The instructions don't tell us to put the covers on until AFTER the horse is attached, and then it is too late and everything has to be disassembled, which is a lot of effort. Hopefully this error in the instructions will be corrected soon.

The horse is surprisingly light, and can easily be moved to different rooms.

My kids also climb all over the horse, and stand on it's back (while holding on to the bars.) If your child is very young and you worry about them climbing without supervision, then you may want to wait a bit.

Otherwise, a great horse! My kids play with this horse daily- much more than any other toy they've ever had. We also received it in CA from Amazon with free Super Saver Shipping in just three days!

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old grandson and he loves it. He played on the toy for hours until he almost fell "asleep in the saddle" so to speak. As a small negative the saddle is not much, but the horse is just as much fun to ride bareback. The sound effects are very cute and the buttons to make them are in the horse's ears which makes them easy to reach. Seeing my grandson's smiles of joy was well worth the purchase price.

My two grandsons 3 & 1, this was there favorite Christmas present!! And still is in March. Its safe, fun, and the horse talks and hehs! A great item for the money!

We bought this for our twin 2 year old girls. They liked it. We actually forgot that it was suppose to talk until a friend found the controls. He demonstrated this to the girls and they were so excited. They fight over who is going to push the buttons. They climb on and hug the pony while pushing the button. I would buy this pony again. It is a refreshing change from the hard plastic.

This horse is sooo cute and well made. It went together easily and the quality is a pleasant surprise compared with most products now-a-days. The mouth moves & he sings songs and says lots of phrases. His eyes are embroidered on. I know our grandaughter, who is 3, is going to fall in love when she sees Lucky for the first time.

My niece just loved this gift. She was a little stand off(ish) at first, but she is warming up to it. The toy seems very sturdy and something that she can enjoy for many years! It was a breeze for the dads to put together.

Lucky has been a great toy for my 2 year old grandson. It took him about 30 minutes to be able to get on it by himself and started to ride on it. Loves to music and sound effects.

Our son (3.5yo) loves it! I am contemplating putting sand bags on the base rails because when my 35-pound kid jumps on the horse, the whole unit shakes and lifts up a bit. So it could be a bit more stable at the base but overall, it's a classic that we enjoy.

Very sturdy, well made. Has a cute song that plays when the ear of the horse is squeezed. A little high off the ground for a 2 year old. I have to help my toddler on and off. But will be big enough for her to ride for a couple of more years.

My 2-year old granddaughter LOVES this toy! She puts the energizer bunny to shame, and it provides her with solo, energetic activity! It takes two to install the springs, as they are very tight (a good thing, I feel), but the stirrups are made of hard plastic which I think bang her shins when she rocks hard - although it did not deter her from bouncing so hard her hair was flying! Its softness as a stuffed animal belies its sturdiness so I expect this toy will hold up well - and she LOVED the stuffed animal feel of it.

The sound effects delighted her and had the adults laughing as well.

Overall, a fine value for the money.

He loves it! We love the soft, plush horse, and the safety spring covers for my 20 month-old son. I had wanted one that didn't "sing" or "speak", but couldn't find one for this price. "Lucky" for us, the batteries wore out after a week. But those who want the songs/sounds won't like that they aren't replaceable. They're just button batteries sewn into the ears.

I search for a rocking horse/ spring horse for my 4 year old daughter. She had a real pony ride that she LOVED. I got her this horse because of that. She loves the fact that it sings and makes noises and gallop sounds.

The only thing that I don't like about the horse is that the front two spring covers move back when the horse is in use. I have to repeatedly move the spring covers back into position.

The set up was pretty easy ... my husband put it together in Christmas eve. On Christmas day, my daughter was truly stunned and amazed to see a horse in the living room :)

I was gearing to order the radio flyer horse - but this product at the time I order it was 50% off so hence why my daughter got this horse.

This is a great old fashioned toy with a new twist (sound & song when you push the ears and a mouth that moves a little). It feels well made, the fur is soft and nice and the plastic coils over the springs prevent the pinching I remember from my childhood. My 3 year old loves it and so far it seems very sturdy. If you follow the directions carefully and read other hints posted online about assembly, it's not hard to put together. I did it alone and had very little trouble with it. (Pulling the final spring into place is best done low to the floor so you can put your whole body into it.) The saddle can slide a little but comes on and off easily - my daughter prefers riding with it off and 'covers' her pony with the saddle when she's done.

I got this on a lightning deal before Christmas at 1/3 the price it is now. I got it partly because of the memories of the spring horse I had when I was young. Many things have changed since then. Mine was a hard plastic with the springs exposed. This horse is well built and was fairly easy to put together. No more than 30 minutes from start to finish. I did have to change the position of a couple of factory connections when set up to make it right. The instructions were good enough to follow. It does help to see a picture of the finished product and then the rest or most of the build is intuitive.

It plays, "I'm a Little Pony" song and 4 phrases: "I love riding with you because we have so much fun together", "I'm your talking, singing pony friend", "I like hugs. When you hug me, you can feel my soft fur", "Hi friend. It's a beautiful day for a ride. Let's go". The mouth moves as it talks.

There are three sound settings: Off, Try Me, On. In the Try Me setting, all the sound, songs, and phrases are said. In the On setting, the only difference is that the galloping sound plays anytime the horse senses movement when the child rides on it or if you walk past it. There is a low and high volume switch but it doesn't seem to be too much different in volume. The product comes with batteries but as with many products that come with batteries, they may not last very long and must be replaced to continue hearing the sounds. The battery pack is in a velcro pouch on the neck by the mane. For those reviews that say the sound doesn't work anymore, my advise is, "Change the batteries."

The fur is soft. The saddle doesn't seem to slip if the child is sitting on it. It is easily removed to ride bareback. The weight limit is 120 pounds so it should work well for most kids between 18 months and 4 years. My 12 year old daughter could ride it based on the weight limit. It is a safe toy to ride responsibly. If you have your young children on it, by all means stay with or near them as they ride. The horse does not tip if ridden even mildly rough but can tip if the child leans to the side.

When the ears are squeezed horse sounds are heard. Unfortunately the ears stopped working within two weeks of receiving the gift. The child is confused as to why they do not work. The only thing that can be done is take the toy apart, find a very large box and pack it up to return to Amazon - very inconvenient.

The other choice is to take an Amazon discount and be stuck with a defective and disappointing toy.

I was not happy with this item becasue when I recived it and put it together all the bottons do not work. It dose not make the sounds.
