I loved this umbrella and felt it an important part of my daughter's (and my) enjoyment of her wagon - it shaded her from the sun, allowed her to play with her toys and look at books and gave me peace of mind knowing that she wasn't being burned to a crisp by the sun. There is a bendable portion to the post at the base, near the clip. I adjusted the angle of the umbrella quite often depending on the location of the sun. However, after only 2 months of use, the metal post on the unbrella became weakened and dented, and it finally snapped. I wish it was made to last longer. I am going to replace the broken, but will be more careful when bending it at the base and I recommend the same to anyone who buys it.

I purchased this just before the Fairhope Arts Festival because I knew my son would be in the sun a lot those days. It was excellent! All the other mothers were stopping me asking where I purchased it so they could get one for their wagons. It covered him well but I did run into the problem of him wanting to switch places in the seating area. When he would move to the other side I would have to move the umbrella long with him. Other than that it seems to be very sturdy and easy to pack up. We have used it for several months now and I have not had a bit of trouble out of the umbrella itself. I think it is a great buy. I can however understand if there is a child that likes to fiddle with things how it could be broken, I just don't allow my son to tear things up.

I am actually using this umbrella for my stroller and it is just perfect. The clib does widen enough to attach to the wide side of my stroller (Eddie Bauer), is strong enough to not slide off etc. and stays in position. Also the umbrella can be bended so you can move it in any direction no matter where the sun comes from. It keeps my little girl in the shade at all times and still gives her enough open room to look at her surroundings!

Also, the small size is about the same width as the wagon, so it's easy to fit thru any doorways, gates, etc...while in the open position that the wagon can.
I rated it 4 stars for fun since my 2 year old loves to play with it (a lot). I think it's great to have and advise anyone with this type of wagon to get it too.

I purchased this wagon umbrella to keep my daugher out of the sun while we go on walks in her stroller. To this point I am extremely happy and so is she because she is able to go out on walks without the worry of getting burnt. After reading previous reviews though I was careful only to bend the umbrella in the designed area and instead of constant bending to keep her out of the sun when we turned to another direction I would reinstall the umbrella in the correct place. I highly recommend this umbrella as a stroller parasol.

This umbrella is a must have if you own any of the Radio Flyer wagons. It is a great accessory...specially for those hot, sunny days. I took my daughter to the local zoo and people came up to me all day asking where I purchased the umbrealla. The umbrella provides just the right amount of protection for your child without getting in the way. The only warning I have for this product is be careful using the adjustable spring. The spring allows you to tilt the umbrella for covering your child. The spring is very stiff. I accidentally bent the metal pole above the spring. When adjusting the angle of the umbrella, hold the spring only while bending. Overall, this product is great!

I read all of the reviews before buying this umbrella.
There really isn't another one out there, so I went for it--knowing it's not very robust and not very big. Two tricks: buy
2 of them (more shade), and bend them as needed (very carefully).
We rarely bend ours after the initial bend. I will reclip the umbrella to the opposite side of the wagon (during a walk where we changed directions), before I will bend it back and forth to get the shade right. I have had no problems. Thanks to the other raters' advice!

We ordered this umbrella for our Radio Flyer metal/wood-sided wagon, along with a wagon bed pad (see my other review) and the cooler accessory (it hasn't arrived yet). Because our daughter is used to having some kind of shade in her stroller, and the summer sun especially hot in July, we decided to opt for this little bit of cover during wagon rides. It's cute, and it is a bit bigger than I thought it would be, but I'm not certain how much coverage it will provide. Because it's adjustable, and can be moved to any part of the wagon's sides, I'm confident we'll get some good use out of it.

I have one of these for my daughter's Discovery wagon that she just recieved for her birthday. I only got it because I thought it was my only option, and no other clamp-on umbrella would work. First of all, this umbrella is WAY TOO SMALL. The only part of your child this would shade is his/her head. And if you have more than one child, FORGET IT. I've only used it a few times, and so far it hasn't broken, like some of the reviews I read. I plan to be very careful with it. My mother-in -law had a clamp-on patio chair umbrella that was MUCH BIGGER, and when I looked at it, I decided it wouldn't work, because the clamp goes sideways, but then I thought of clamping it on the drink-holder. IT WORKED! So now I use both umbrellas. The small one for my daughter's head (clamped on the end) and the big one for the rest of her. It may look silly to some people when they see us on the street, but I don't care. I have peace of mind, and that's what's important. So this is my suggestion. If you have one, and it still works, keep it, and get a patio chair one like I did. If it has a sideways screw-on clamp, buy it, it will work if you have the Discovery wagon.Thank goodness for the drink holder. And yes, you'll still have room for your drinks.

The umbrella is a great idea and works well with the radio flyer wagon. The problem is ours broke after limited use. The umbrella did not bend easily in the coil area. We found that when people adjusted the umbrella they always bent it where the button is to put the umbrella up and down. In the end that is where the umbrella snapped in two. So just take your time when trying to bend the umbrella to block the sun!

Even after reading many negative reviews, I still thought we *had* to have this umbrella for our wagon. It's the perfect size, it fit great but unfortunately it snapped in two the very first use. You have to be very very careful where you touch it to bend it. It's a great shade for your wagon if you don't mind going through several of them or using a bit of duct tape. The umbrella is ok. Only thing I don't like about it is that when I take my son for a walk around the neighborhood or park, I have to constantly changed the angle or position of the umbrella (depending where the sun is). I guess it's better than the canopy top that comes with some of the wagons, because if the sun is coming from the side, the canopy can't be adjusted whereas the umbrella can be adjusted. So, I guess the umbrella is ok.

I like the idea of an umbrella for these great wagons, but this broke 30 minutes into my first use. There's a goose-neck near the clip to allow adjusting the angle, but the paper-thin aluminum tube above it won't take any stress before breaking. I broke it and my daughter cried.
The only saving grace is that it's relatively inexpensive.

As I was adjusting it (to block the sun) the hollow metal shaft of the umbrella bent and then broke in two pieces. Even before it broke, it was not all that useful as I had to keep moving the umbrella as soon as we changed directions and the sun was coming in from another angle.

I first saw these umbrellas when visiting my friend w/ triplets & a double stroller...she was using them for extra shade on her triple stroller. I thought...what a great idea and hoped on amazon.com and bought them the next day for my double stroller....same purpose - more shade. Now I gotta say...these are some good looking umbrellas...not very large, but they LOOK great. The clip is AMAZING...simply amazing...it will clamp down on a flat surface perfectly (flat is better but with some rigging you can do round surfaces).
My only problem...and it's a big one...is that one of the strings that holds the umbrella fabric to the frame was broken. The problem seems to be that they use some really thin string rather than a more durable plastic twine to thread all the parts together. As much as I wanted these to be great...they just weren't good enough quality. If they were broke upon arrival, then I'd have to wonder how long they'd last with your kids pulling on them (and they WILL!)
The only other note is this...the umbrellas are not very large. They are "kid" sized, so don't be surprised when they're only 12 maybe 14 inches at largest. If you're needing some coverage and decide to buy them then you should probably get at least 2.

Features of Radio Flyer Umbrella Accessory
The Radio Flyer Umbrella Accessory fits all Radio Flyer full-sized wagons. The umbrella attaches easily to the wagon to provide shade and stays firmly in place.
When the sun beats down over the long haul, this jaunty, adjustable red polyester umbrella transforms a little red wagon into a shady Conestoga. And it will serve you well should you be surprised by rain showers on your journey. You could also clamp it on a lawn chair, a cooler handle, a park railing, or a backpack strap. The neoprene-padded jaws of the sturdy plastic, 6.5-inch spring clamp move smoothly on 180-degree hinges, so the umbrella gets a flat, slip-proof grip on objects that are from an eighth of an inch to 2 inches thick--even on wet wood or slick metal. Made especially to sit pretty on a classic Radio Flyer wagon, the versatile, heavy-duty clamp also accommodates non-planar surfaces, such as a wide-lipped wall. Unfasten the Velcro closure and slide open a taut 26.5-inch diameter circle of shade made of chunky, top-quality materials. A 4-inch-long, .375-inch-diameter metal-spiraled neck above the clamp allows you to adjust the shade to any angle in any direction. This beauty is made to last as long as a Radio Flyer wagon! The umbrella is 30.75 inches long, and comes with instructions.
