My 16 month old boy loves this horse. He unwrapped it christmas morning and was just stood there touching its nose and its ear. It took ages to get his other presents opened as he kept going back to this one. It is lovely quality.....really easy to put together in a short time. My only complaint would be that the sides of the straight pieces of wood that affix under the horse are actually very sharp...my teenager caught his ankle on an edge and had an inch long gouge in his skin. Really they just needed to be rounded off. It rocks nicely and I am very pleased with it and so is my little guy. Highly recommended, but adults mind your ankles.
2.) Great Rocking Horse

Of all the rocking horses we looked at this one was our choice. We were at a toy store and my daughter would not get off the horse. I found it online for a much cheaper price. Both my girls love the horse and have not grown tired of it. They get on and rock to their hearts delight. We have had it over a year and the kids have not tired of it.
3.) Classic rocking horse

The assembly directions should have mentioned you had to pull the legs in order to reach the proper placement for attachment to glider. But other than that, my 18 mos old & 5 year old love it. It is quite small for my average sized 5 year old, but, it's a new toy and therefore fun.

Several of my daughter's friends have rocking horses and I love ours the most! The horizontal slats across the bottom provide the perfect platform for little ones to stand on. I have had this horse for almost a year now, and have had no problems with it. My daughter and her friends loves riding this rocking horse.

I bought this for my daughter's 1st birthday and she loves it! She's a little small and a little young to use it all by herself, but she's already learned how to rock the horse herself and she loves to hug it because it's so soft. It seems very sturdy and it makes realistic horse sounds when you press it's left ear. You have to first insert batteries under the horse's belly to make the sounds. I hope this toy will be something she can grow into more as she gets older and enjoy for years to come.

Beautiful and classic! Makes a great addition to a child's room. Lovely to look at it, even when not being used as a toy.

A perfect toy for a little angel! Very impressive, very plush, very detailed, very solid and well made especially considering the low price tag. This is the second horse I bought! My first grandson loved it so much I had to buy a second one for my other grandson, his cousin!
The horse holds a special place of honor in their bedrooms and there's nothing like a little "ride" pre or post bedtime!

"Brilliant product"! This was the first Christmas gift my 17-month old saw and remains the top present she plays with. Beautifully crafted, plush, solid wood craftsmanship, and fun sounds make this a joy in our house. Well recommended!"

Our one year LOVED to rock...anyway and every way he could, so naturally we thought a rocking horse would be perfect for him. We chose this one because of the plush body and the positive reviews it's received. Our little boy LOVES this horse. He loves the sound the horse makes and has even figured out how to start the sound himself. He can't quick climb on it himself, but I will often find him standing next to it(standing on the rails) holding on to both handles and rocking the horse. "Rocky" has become a member of our family and a regular part of our day. We are very pleased with our purchase. The quality of the rocking horse is outstanding and I feel that the price was right in line for the quality of the product. Very, very pleased!!!
11.) GREAT SELF-SOOTHING MECHANISM FOR 2-YEAR OLDS!

This is great for 2-year olds! It helps them to self-soothe. However, I would have greatly appreciated a place for the child rider to prop their feet. There are no foot rests. Other than that...it's pretty cool. My grandchild loves to make it whinny!

My parents decided they wanted to buy our 15mo son a rocking horse for Christmas and asked me to pick out one. Melissa and Doug products are a favorite in our house so as soon as I saw this product, I was fairly certain this was the one! Our horse's name is Ligtning and both my son and my 3yo daughter love him! The base is made of sturdy, attractive wood and is a nice platform for boarding (mounting?) Ligtning. The horse itself is soft and the realistic horse sounds he makes when you press his ear are a bonus! My son can board and deboard the horse all by himself as well as make him rock once on. Buy this for your child, you won't be sorry!

This is definately a quality product and my Grandchildren loved it. However I also purchased another brand of horse from Home Depot, of all places, that had significantly more animation and was somewhat larger. That was the hit of Christmas morning.
14.) Good rocking horse for the 2 yo crowd

We purchased this rocking horse for our daughter for Christmas. It has been a modest hit. She has ridden it almost daily since Christmas for a few minutes at a time. Overall it is safe, although she did crunch her toes under the runner a few days back.
The product came in two pieces. You attach the horse to the runners. Add the batteries and you are set to go, maybe 30 minutes total.
I would recommend this product for a coordinated 18mo to 2.5 yo, depending on their size.

Great little rocking horse. Have had a couple of others and their durability was truly tested by my 2 year old. This one has provided a great deal of fun and is narrow enough that my son really can rest his feet on the bottom and really rock away.
16.) Good purchase

My kids (2 and 5) were so excited to receive this for Christmas! I was a little worried that the 5 year old would be too big for it and she really is too tall but doesn't seem to mind or notice. I love that weight isn't an issue with a 150# weight limit. My only problem with this is that with only 4 screws to put it together (easy, right?) it took us almost an hour to do it with lots of frustration. My husband was ready to send it back. The angle of the horse's legs and the angle of the holes in the wood where they were supposed to go together weren't the same, making it virtually impossible to even line up the holes let alone the angles. Again, very frustrating. Now that it's together, it's very sturdy. Maybe it was a fluke they weren't lined up, maybe not. Overall very pleased other than our bump in the road!
17.) Horrible child's toy

I was so excited to give this to my little one for her birthday and thought this would be something that could be cherrished. Instead the quality is horrible. The "fur" is a scratchy/rough material (not stuffed animal-like at all) and the thing smelled like it was dipped in turpentine even after sitting in my living room for a week. I'm sending this back even though I'll end up loosing out on the shipping costs both ways and a 15% restocking fee. It's still worth it since there is no way I want my kid playing with this. I'm really dissapointed. Do NOT buys this horse.
18.) Disappointment

I purchased this horse for my 3 year old son because this company's products are generally of good quality. This is not one of the their good products!! One of the legs ripped while we tried to fit the horse on the base (the legs are not spread enough for the base). Also, the saddle could not be any worse quality -- plastic that will surely rip next time the batteries are changed. The only good thing is the realistic horse sounds. Overall, go somewhere else to get a beautiful rocking horse for your child.
