We purchased several ride on dump trucks for our son this Christmas and this is by far everyone's favorite. It has been age appropriate, realistic, fun, and completely wonderful for our pre-walker. It is parent friendly as it has a turn off switch that you can adjust the volume. We love the Mega Blocks that work with it as well.

My sons LOVED it!! Got it for a GREAT price for a Christmas gift. A quarter of the price that I paid for a Thomas the Train ride on and the kids rode this one much more. For the price of $12.00, absolutely couldn't beat it and have no regrets buying it. Even if I paid double, still a good deal considering the price of other ride ons like this. Has buttons that makes sounds consistent with a dump truck. Very cute, sturdy toy. Better made than others. The only things is that it's hard to get the dump truck part back into place to play with it rather than ride on it. It clips in place when it's up, hard to get it unclipped but otherwise, wouldn't have stopped me from purchasing.

This is a great toy i would recommend for any (walking)todler between 1 and 2. I bought it for my son(a 19 month old) as a christmas gift along with the mega brand blocks which i also recommend.I wasn't 2 sure about it after some of the reviews i read but something in me told me to try it for myself and i'm sure glad i did. From the moment my son first opened it he hasn't put it down(figuratively speaking). The look in his eyes and smile on his face everytime he plays with this toy is priceless.

my 20 month old son loves this truck! i bought it for him b/c he kept trying to sit on his small toy trucks and ride on them but would fall off b/c they were too small and not designed to be ridden on. this truck is perfect for him. and, as a mom, i am so grateful that the truck comes with volume control - off, loud, louder, and really loud. i highly recommend this truck for your kids, especially if they are super active.

This Dump Truck is a big hit with my 1 year old. He has figured out how to push the buttons to make noise, which he loves. He also loves loading and unloading the bed. The only downside is that when the bed is down (in the non riding position) it doesn't lock into place very well...which is a problem for a one year old because I'm afraid that he'll push on it - and it will flip up and hit him in the head. So for now we keep it in the riding/pushing position until he's old enough to understand the other part. So far he LOVES his d'tuk.

I bought this for my son for his 1st birthday. He loves this toy! He's now 14-1/2 months old, and he's learning about the "noise" buttons, so it's excitement has been renewed in our household. He's also just now able to get on and off by himself, and figuring out how to ride it on his own. This toy really does "grow" with our son. We can't wait for him to start hauling things around in the bed of the truck! I did notice that we have had to re-attach the bed 3-4 times, as it does snap off easily. But, I still think it is pretty well worth it for the enjoyment that our son has gotten from this toy. I would definitely buy it again.
11.) Realistic sounds

This is a fun toy with realistic truck sounds. I think my son will get a lot of use out of it even when he can't "ride" on it anymore. My husband seems to enjoy it also! It makes a gear changing sound when it is rolled forward and a beeping sound when it is rolled backwards. It also has buttons with other sounds such as a horn and a dumping/lifting sound. I recommend it!

This dump truck was just what I was looking for.. It's just the right size for my 15 month old grandson & I'm sure for years to come. Very durable. It's plastic so if it gets left out in the rain no big deal. He's big enough so he can lift his leg up to get on & ride it. When he pushes it it makes various sounds. It also comes w/just a couple of those large lego pieces that fit inside & on the side & front of the truck. Nice feature if you already have those large lego pieces. The only thing he can't do himself is lock the back of the truck into the different positions. I suppose it doesn't need to be locked into position, but most kids will not be able to switch it from a push toy to a ride-on toy. But overall, I am very happy w/this purchase.

Purchased two of these for my 1 year old grandsons. Truck is well build and sturdy for the rough play of a little boy. Can be used as an aid to walking as they learn to take those first steps. Plenty of room in the dump bed for them load there blocks and other items they wish to push around.

I love the look of this toy. I purchased it for my godson (just turned one) who is a strong walker and typical tough boy. It looks cute as anything and I have been happy w/ all of my son's (2 yrs old), "CAT" tractors, trucks etc. I wanted to have the cool "big boy" present, unfortunately it doesn't hold up to a boy's love, The dump truck bed continues to fall off, which makes it easier to ride but a pain for mom and dad to put on all of the time. I expected much better quality. I wouldn't buy it again.

I bought this toy for my two year old son at a local toy store per his insistence when we went to the ride-on section to find just the right one for him. He loves the toy, and when it is functioning properly, it's really great. There are a couple of problems that continue to frustrate child and parents, however; the cargo area on the truck doesn't stay on well and continually has to be replaced by the parents, and the front of the truck is too low to the floor to give a smooth ride on carpet with a child sitting on the toy. Yes, he loves the toy; but for all the frustration, I'd probably buy a different ride-on if I had it to do over.

My son received this dump truck from his grandfather for his 1st birthday, and overall he really loves it! Mommy put the blocks in the bed and he dumps/throws them out. And he absolutely loves, LOVES the soundeffect buttons on the steering wheel. Our only disappointment is that he is, at almost 15 months, too long/tall (he's approx. 32 inches) to use it as a ride-on. It's really too low to the ground for him and the wheels are a little too close together for him to be able to "push" well. He gets frustrated, and just uses his other ride-on. Overall this is a great toy with no assembly required (even better!).

I got this toy for my 11 months old daughter.
What I liked - stable as a walk behind toy; looks durable; fun and realistic noises; fun for a baby riding inside the dump bed and a parent pushing it.
What I did not like - it is not designed well for a ride-on toy - there are plastic black bumps where the legs are supposed to be. The front is too low so I have to lift it every time from the hardwood floor to the carpet area with my daughter on it. Steering is hard for the baby. Most of the time the dump bed needs to be constantly reajusted if it is in ride-on position and I am pushing it with my daughter riding it.
Definitely overpriced for the design and the provided functionality.

My granddaughter loved this riding truck. However, the horn and sound never worked. The truck has one drawback. In order to ride the dump bed has to be up because the seat is underneath. Therefore, the child cannot ride and haul at the same time.

I read reviews here and elsewhere of various push/ride toys, and I liked the appearance of this truck and the fact that it had several uses. My 13-month son likes putting things into the bed, and has pushed it around a bit, but it tends to get away from him so he scurries after on his knees. Also, I hoped to use this toy outside because we have a large grassy backyard that our son likes to play in, but imagine my surprise when the back of the box says the toy is not to be used outside! Absolutely NOWHERE on this or any other site is this mentioned. I figured the main reason was because of the batteries - sun, water, and dirt all have bad effects on batteries - so I figured I'd just never put batteries in. But - the front is indeed very close to the floor, so if it doesn't roll easily over carpet, it certainly doesn't roll easily over grass. I'm a bit disgruntled now about this, given what I paid for this large toy that is perhaps too large for our small house. However, my son enjoys playing with it and the blocks and I'm sure will grow into it in the next few months and enjoy pushing and riding it around. I like the construction and that it's not a cutesy "little kid" toy. If you want an outdoor toy, however, look elsewhere.
21.) Great toy, horribly made

My parents got this for my son when he turned 1 a few weeks ago. It was immediately a HUGE hit. We set it up in walk-behind mode, and this is his favorite toy. He'd walk behind it, then sometimes go to the front to hit the buttons, then back to the back, etc...
2 days ago, we were showing somebody that it turns into a real dump truck as well, so for the first time ever, we unclipped the truck bed, and turned it into a proper dump truck. When we tried to set it up again in walk behind mode, the truck bed would clip, but immediately unclip. 5 of us tried for about 45 minutes to get the truck bed to stay, and it wouldn't. The way we ended up getting it to stay? Duct tape.
I emailed Mega Brands about this problem, and at my expense if I ship this one back, they'll send me a new one. Since shipping is about as much as the toy itself since it's so big, I passed, but I'm warning everybody that although this is a great toy, it's extremely poorly made. Now I understand what all the other reviews meant when they said they truck bed doesn't stay. It will, if you duct tape it, but then obviously you can switch truck modes until you remove the duct tape. I would've given this 5 stars otherwise, but giving it 2 because of this, and I'd recommend to find something else.

I thought this would be fun for my 2yr old, but the bed is a problem. If it's down, it snaps in place and he can't lift it on his own. If it's up it is too loose and comes off easily. We were outside playing, a thunderstorm popped up. I grabbed baby and truck to run inside. The truck slipped out of my hand. Not a hard drop, but a drop, I'm 4'11", now the sound buttons don't work.
I will say the sound buttons were "real sounding".
I don't buy a lot of new toys, as I find some really good ones at yard sales (recycle)so this purchase was a disappointment. :(

 | What We Think Fun Factor:
Durability: (what this means)
The Good: Fun building, dumping, and sound effects
The Bad: Truck doesn't dump on its own
In a Nutshell: Designed to work with crawling, walking, standing, or riding | At a Glance Ages: 1 to 3 years old Requires: 3 AA batteries | | |
Ride, Dump, and Build with Blocks Perfectly built for little bodies, the 3-in-1 Ride-On Dump Truck is the right height for kids who still spend much of their time crawling and playing on the floor. Toddlers can easily roll the dump truck around with them as they walk or stand, supported by the ergonomic handle on the dump bed. With the truck bed up, kids can ride the truck facing forward with their hands low on the steering wheel, or with their hands higher on the dump handle. Although the truck doesn't unload on its own, the light truck bed lifts up and slides back easily. Made from tough, durable plastic with safe, rounded edges, this Caterpillar brand dump truck holds up to long days of play. Like the real thing, this truck stands out with a bright yellow and black design. The 10 included Maxi Mega Blocks attach to each other for fun building and connect to spots in the dump bed, to the left and right of the truck, and on the steering wheel. The same color as the steering wheel and its buttons, these blocks are red, black, and gray.
Realistic Dump Truck Sounds
As exciting as the building and dumping action are the fun sound effects the truck makes. Turning on this dump truck, kids are immediately transported to the sounds of a construction site. By pushing one of three buttons on the steering wheel, the driver hears the truck's engine starting up and blowing exhaust, the truck's horn honking, or the truck dumping. The truck creates engine sounds when pushed forward; rolled backward, it beeps to make sure no one's in the truck's blind spots. Whether or not construction sounds are a part of your daily life, the toy's realistic noises can grow a little tiresome. Thankfully, the toy doesn't have to be turned on to be played with and comes completely assembled. While this dump truck is too heavy for children to pick up, its design is compact enough for parents to move it with one hand from one room to the next, or quickly pack it in the back seat of the car. What's more, the 3-in-1 Ride-On Dump Truck is compatible with standard Maxi Bloks, allowing young ones to make even bigger and better creations.
